Ultimaker moves into new headquarters in Utrecht | NPM Capital

Ultimaker, the global market leader in desktop 3D printing, has moved its headquarters from Geldermalsen to Utrecht, the Netherlands. The growth of the 3D printing industry and increased demand for Ultimaker products all but insisted upon the change. All that activity, in turn, means an expected further widening of its talent pool –currently at around 400 people. As such, the NPM Capital portfolio company requires a larger, more central location. The company now occupies the top two floors of the Noordgebouw, which houses the Creative Valley co-working space.

Ultimaker focuses on the high-end segment of the market, with industrial-grade printers that are known for their quality, reliability, ease of use and extensive material support. Ultimaker’s products serve many blue-chip customers in a large variety of industries that use 3D printing in areas like prototyping, manufacturing, research and education. The company has experienced explosive growth since it was founded in 2011.

With offices in the Netherlands, Singapore and the USA, the innovative company has built a worldwide distribution network selling its products in over 100 countries. There are currently thousands of Ultimaker printers in use, and its free, open-source software Ultimaker Cura enjoys more than 500,000 unique users per month and prepares a staggering 1.4 million prints per week.

The company will continue to maintain its presence in Geldermalsen, as well as its manufacturing warehouse in Zaltbommel.
