NPM portfolio company Infinitas Learning has acquired the educational platforms LessonUp and fobizz and is bringing them together with Futurewhiz, which includes Squla and StudyGo, under the newly established Infinitas Learning EdTech Holding. With these acquisitions, the education company is further expanding its EdTech activities in the Netherlands and other European countries, including Germany.
LessonUp is used by teachers in the Netherlands to create and deliver interactive lessons, quizzes and videos, as well as to share and reuse teaching materials. Germany-based fobizz offers digital education and AI tools, teaching materials and online training. The platform is used by tens of thousands of schools and focuses, among other things, on the responsible and safe use of AI in education.
LessonUp and fobizz will continue to operate independently and remain publisher-agnostic. Within the new EdTech Holding, they will be brought together with Squla and StudyGo. Jeroen Munk, who has been involved in the development of Squla and StudyGo, will become CEO of the holding. Ellen Mertens will take on the role of CFO.
“I’m thrilled to welcome LessonUp and fobizz to the Infinitas Learning family. Both companies have tremendous potential to continue growing while adding unique strengths to our group. Together, we can build on the vital role our platforms already play in education, supporting teachers in even more aspects of their daily work and helping learners thrive,” says Jeroen Munk, CEO of Infinitas Learning EdTech Holding.
