Bergman Clinics opens renovated operating theatre complex in Naarden

NPM portfolio company Bergman Clinics has opened a fully renovated operating theatre complex in Naarden, the Netherlands. The operating theatres have been modernised, while the building’s climate control system has also been upgraded in line with current sustainability standards. The first patients have already been treated in the new facilities.

The Naarden location plays an important role in the history of Bergman Clinics. Twenty years ago, the company opened its first operating theatres for insured orthopaedic care at this location. These activities later developed into Bergman Clinics’ nationwide Movement division, which provides planned specialist medical care to thousands of patients each year.

During the renovation, all scheduled procedures continued at other Bergman Clinics locations, mainly in Capelle aan den IJssel and Arnhem. Employees from Naarden temporarily worked at these locations to ensure continuity of patient care. Equipment and materials were also temporarily relocated.

“The commitment of our healthcare professionals during the renovation and in the weeks ahead deserves enormous appreciation. Thank you for everything you have done for Bergman Clinics, for each other and, in particular, for our patients,” said Daphne van Dam, Chief Medical Officer at Bergman Clinics.
