Agro Care Tunisia trains local team in water storage maintenance

NPM portfolio company Agro Care has trained members of its construction team in Tunisia in the construction and repair of water storage silos. The team completed specialist training in installing and welding the plastic liners used in the silos and received official welding certificates. This enables Agro Care Tunisia to carry out future repairs and modifications using its own certified staff.

The training was delivered in Tunisia by Bas van der Elst of Hendic and DL Plastics. Among other things, employees learned how to repair potential damage to the plastic liners inside the silos. Because the material cannot be glued, repairs are carried out by welding the plastic together using hot air.

During the visit, the water storage silos built under the supervision of project manager Thijmen Pool were also inspected. The quality of the work was assessed as good. Apart from a few practical points for attention and additional safety instructions, the inspection found the silos to be in good condition.

With the certification, the local team can now carry out work on the water storage facilities more independently. Agro Care Tunisia aims to make the maintenance and management of the silos more efficient while further developing local technical expertise.
