[Film] Sustainable cultivation improves the quality of HAK vegetables | NPM Capital

Bejo Zaden and HAK Groenten say using the ‘Veldleeuwerik’ method of sustainable cultivation positively affects the quality of a nutritious and tasty Dutch product. The partners show in a film entitled ‘Delicious from the ground up’ how they collaborate using this extraordinary method. They are giving further shape to this method together with red cabbage grower Jaap Lodders in order to promote sustainable cultivation in the Netherlands.

Stichting Veldleeuwerik is a unique alliance between crop farmers and processing companies with the objective of actively promoting sustainable agriculture. The foundation provides a platform for farmers and chain partners to exchange knowledge and experience based on concrete sustainability plans.

Stichting Veldleeuwerik’s name is a reference to a bird species for which the Dutch farming countryside has become increasingly less habitable over the past decades. This is due in part to decreasing biodiversity and the lack of good nesting sites as a result of intensive soil usage. Sustainable agriculture that takes biodiversity, crop protection, soil fertility and other sustainability aspects into account will create the required preconditions for securing the food supply now and in the future.
