Our participation Otolift has officially opened the Otolift Academy in Bergambacht: a practical training centre where (new) technicians are trained to become fully-fledged stairlift technicians in seven weeks. Mayor Hans Beenakker officially opened the new training facility on Steenfabriekstraat on Friday.
The Otolift Academy brings together all the company's training activities and offers a combination of technical training, customer communication and practical experience at multiple locations. New employees learn about safety, rail construction, chair assembly and programming, both at the training location and in practice at customers' homes. During the opening, seven new technicians received their official diplomas.
CEO Dirk Smulders said: “The Academy is an investment in craftsmanship and in the region. We don't just train people for a job, but also for a future in technology more broadly.”
With the opening, Otolift underlines the importance of innovation, growth and knowledge sharing. The company, which has specialized in stairlifts since 1968 and has held the designation ‘Royal’ since 2016, is active in 42 countries. Production takes place in-house, in the 15,000 square metre factory in Bergambacht.
