Dutch greenhouse builder and NPM participation KUBO Group is partnering with a Saudi company to develop a high-tech greenhouse zone in the Saudi Arabian region of Jazan. The project, which will cover more than a million square metres, is intended to contribute to sustainable food production and is aligned with the broader ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030.
For this collaboration, KUBO reached an agreement with the Amtar Al Khair Agricultural Crops Company. Within the initiative, Dutch technology is deployed to help cultivate vegetables and fruit efficiently throughout the year. In doing so, the partners aim to meet the growing demand for locally produced, high-quality food. Meanwhile, the project is meant to contribute to knowledge sharing, employment and capacity building in the region.
The greenhouse zone is supported by the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Agriculture Development Fund. KUBO is supplying its contribution in the form of integrated greenhouse solutions and expertise in highly controlled growing environments.
With this step, KUBO is expanding its presence in the Middle East and demonstrating how sustainable technology can contribute to food production in regions where climate and water scarcity pose major challenges.
