Greenhouse builder KUBO is building a new 10-hectare greenhouse in Sweden for tomato cultivation, including a 1-hectare service area. The new tomato greenhouse is part of the investment expansion by Selected Group and is planned next to the existing site in Frövi. The greenhouse will be fully supported by KUBO's Smart Growing services.
The greenhouse will be built according to the Ultra-Clima concept, which has now been officially certified for its CO₂ footprint. Independent testing shows that emissions per kilo of tomatoes in this greenhouse are over 25 per cent lower than in traditional Venlo greenhouses. By using captured CO₂ as fertilizer combined with renewable energy and efficient installations, this concept even offers opportunities for CO₂-negative cultivation.
The greenhouse will be equipped with smart technologies for climate control, energy saving and water management. Advanced shading screen systems regulate light and temperature, while integrated installations ensure a stable and efficient growing environment. With this expansion, KUBO and Selected Group strengthen their position as pioneers in sustainable greenhouse horticulture.
