De Boer Structures builds 36,000m² of temporary structures for anniversary edit | NPM Capital

From 19 to 22 July 2016, 50,000 people – among whom 6,000 soldiers – participated in the 100th edition of the world’s largest walking event, ‘Vierdaagse’ (International Four Day March) in Nijmegen in the South of the Netherlands,. They represented 68 different nationalities. Over 10,000 blisters were treated at the Red Cross points, which received more traffic due to the warm weather. These points were one of the highlights of the temporary accommodations built by De Boer this year, for the 50th time in a row.

De Boer built a total of 36,000 square metres of temporary structures this year. At camp Heumensoord 26,000  square metres of accommodations were ready to use for the 6,000 soldiers, consisting of sleeping facilities, a dining area, showers and a beer tent. De Boer required 80 trucks with materials and roughly four weeks to turn it into fully fledged accommodations. After the ‘Vierdaagse’, it took two weeks to dismantle the temporary structures.
