Conclusion is set to acquire Amsterdam data specialist Hot ITem, pending approval from the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (Dutch: Autoriteit Consument en Markt). Currently, Hot ITem is one of the leading business intelligence and advanced data analytics service providers. The acquisition will broaden and strengthen Conclusion’s position as a supplier of services on the cutting edge of business and data technology, data management and data integration.
With this planned acquisition, Conclusion will be able to assist its clients even better with their data-driven digital transformations and optimisation of processes. With companies like AMIS, Conclusion Connect and Yellowtail in the Conclusion ecosystem, the foundation was already sturdy, but this acquisition will further strengthen it.
Hot ITem currently employs 250 specialists in the field of business intelligence (BI) and data engineering. The company also operates in advanced analytics and big data engineering under the Future Facts brand. Competence development for data-driven organisations (Hot ITem Academy), management of hybrid data environments (HIBRID) and data management for pension funds (DataTrust) are also amongst the company’s core areas of expertise.
Engbert Verkoren, CEO at Conclusion: ‘Hot ITem is well-known, with its clients and innovative projects, for its ability to generate business value, and, at the same time, achieve a future-proof data foundation for BI and analytics solutions. As a service provider, the company differentiates itself from its competition by building a bridge between business and IT. In that, they pay attention to the fact that data-driven transformations are prone to change, by stimulating data-driven decision-making, building data expertise amongst clients and creating a data-driven culture.’
The next step
According to Dick Mecklenfeld, CEO of Hot ITem, as a subsidiary of Conclusion, the company will be ready for the next step. ‘We help organisations to improve their performance levels. We do that by combining business knowledge with data for the main business drivers in the vision and strategy. It allows our clients to manage, justify and discover new business opportunities in a fact-based manner. We see many opportunities by working together substantively with the existing companies in the Conclusion ecosystem, and, therefore, being of even greater added value to our clients,’ says Mecklenfeld.
Verkoren is pleased with the planned acquisition because it will markedly strengthen Conclusion’s position as a transformation and continuity partner to new and existing clients. Verkoren: ‘What appeals to me most is that Hot ITem has worked in a business case-driven way since its establishment. I view this as a success factor in the market because it leads to enthusiasm in all echelons of the client organisation. The ability to hold differentiating knowledge in the data work field is crucial for Conclusion. Hot ITem’s culture, in which passionate professionals do everything in their power to improve client results, dovetails perfectly with our philosophy. It, therefore, provides substantial value to the employees and our clients’ customers. Also, this culture plays a key role in the successful development of new applications with the help of technologies such as the IoT, AI and Machine Learning.’
