New Deli Home head office in Gorinchem | NPM Capital

Deli Home’s new head office in Gorinchem was officially opened by Mayor Reinie Melissant-Briene in December 2018. The head office, which includes a large interior showroom, is located in the former offices of Trias on Stadhuisplein in the city centre. Deli Home is market leader in the Benelux and designs and manufactures doors, flooring, bathroom fixtures, closets (including made to measure), insect screens and decorative wooden products. The NPM Capital portfolio company is the parent company of businesses including JéWé and encompasses brands such as Bruynzeel, CanDo and Lundia.

“Our production and logistics are carried out in JéWé’s warehouses,” says Deli Home Director Jan-Willem Smits. “Made-to-measure closets and all the timber work, such as frames and skirting boards, are produced in these warehouses. We formerly also had a closet production location in Lekkerkerk, but we moved the entire production to Gorinchem this year.” Bruynzeel also had an office with a showroom in Nieuwegein, while the holding was located in Rotterdam. Smits: “We really wanted to bring the whole company together. This is a great location, which is near the production and logistics operation in the Schelluinsestraat.” The renovations took around a year to complete.

Smits: “We don’t actually sell any products at this location. Consumers can visit our showroom to gain inspiration for their interior and to see all the possibilities our brands have to offer. Once they’ve made their choice, we refer them to the location where the products are available. We also use our showroom to display, in collaboration with property developers, the range of choices available to new construction homebuyers so that they can select items such as their doors or bathroom fixtures.”

Deli Home has 170 employees at the head office and approximately 250 employees at the production locations, making it one of the largest employers in Gorinchem. “And we’re still growing,” says Smits. “It’s clearly a strong market at the moment and we’re investing extensively in our brands and concepts. The made-to-measure closets have, for example, been extremely successful. Customers design the closets themselves and they’re produced here in the factory. Having all our brands and companies close to each other is a decisive factor in being able to successfully develop concepts such as this.”
