NPM participation Kramp is increasing the capacity of its distribution center in Varsseveld with an expansion of the automated Evo Shuttle system. This measure is intended to accommodate the growth of the wholesaler of agricultural machinery parts and to respond to higher customer expectations regarding delivery times and product range.
Together with technology partner Knapp, Kramp is adding four additional aisles to the existing shuttle system. Three new robots will also be installed to automatically stack boxes onto pallets. A new feature is that the system will now work not only with plastic containers, but also with cardboard boxes of various sizes. This allows for faster and more flexible order picking.
A buffer zone will also be added, allowing for smarter order bundling. In total, the expansion will provide an additional processing capacity of 1,720 order lines per hour. Work began in August 2025 and will continue until 2028. The distribution center will remain operational during this period.
Kramp has been collaborating with Knapp on warehouse automation since 2008. The distribution center handles more than 500,000 different items and plays a central role in the logistics of the company, which focuses on the agricultural sector.
