HQ Pack acquires Meilink's semiconductor activities

NPM participation HQ Pack Group is acquiring the semiconductor activities of packaging company Meilink. The acquisition, which includes four locations in Eindhoven and Schijndel and a total of approximately 180 employees, was finalized just before Christmas; approval from the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) is currently pending. All current Meilink employees will join HQ Pack.

Both HQ Pack and Meilink specialize in high-tech packaging solutions for companies such as chip machine manufacturer ASML. In this sector, damage or contamination must be prevented during packaging. A single dust particle can cause significant damage during transport. Hence, both companies have their own clean rooms: sterile environments, where components for companies such as ASML and Philips are cleaned and packaged.

With this move, Meilink is divesting all its semiconductor activities. The rest of the company will continue to operate independently from its other locations in Borculo, Boxmeer, Edam, Raamsdonksveer, and Rotterdam. According to CEO Dennis Groesbeek, the sale aligns with the family business's growth strategy: “This goes beyond Brainport. We're giving our people a future with a reputable company while also making room for international growth.”

HQ Pack has offices in the Netherlands, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States and is a global supplier of packaging solutions to the high-tech industry. The acquisition strengthens the company's position as a supplier in the semiconductor supply chain and aligns with NPM Capital's broader growth strategy.
