Vanderlande Industries has won the Audience Award in the Dutch Sourcing Awards 2013. This was the first time it was possible to vote on one of the winning purchasing performances prior to the presentation of the awards. The Dutch Sourcing Award is presented annually to a Dutch purchasing team that has turned in a top performance. ING Insurance won the award in the Step Change category, while Nedtrain was among the winners in the Sustainability category, and Fokker Aerostructures succeeded in capturing the overall award and Operational Excellence award.
Vanderlande was nominated for the Dutch Sourcing Awards 2013 in the Operational Excellence and Step Change categories, but ultimately won the Audience Award, with 38% of votes. The jury was impressed by the passion and enthusiasm with which both projects were carried out. “We are extremely proud that Vanderlande has been chosen by the public as the winner of the Dutch Sourcing Awards 2013. By voting for us en masse, the public has expressed its appreciation of our innovative projects,” says Edgar Beers, CPO of Vanderlande Industries. “It is fantastic recognition of the steps we have taken as a team and underscores our passion in everything we do. We wholeheartedly congratulate our Dutch purchasing colleagues with this accomplishment!”
The Dutch Sourcing Awards are awarded annually to the purchasing team with the most impressive purchasing performance over the past year. In addition to the overall winner and Audience Award, three purchasing teams are awarded a prize for an exceptional project or initiative in one of the three sub-areas of purchasing activities: Operational Excellence, Sustainability and Step Change. The goal is to stimulate the development of the purchasing function.
