Vanderlande has concluded the 2015 financial year (April 1, 2014 - March 31, 2015) with a record turnover of €988 million. This is a significant increase of 25% compared to the turnover of €790 million in 2014. Additionally, the total order intake in the same period came to a record amount of over €1 billion, which is an increase of 10% compared to €938 million in 2014.

The turnover increase is the result of the significant growth in Vanderlande’s segments packages and mail services and warehouse automation (mainly food retail and e-commerce), as well as in life-cycle services. The increase in new orders is relatively high in the life-cycle services segment, which is partly due to the increasing level of digital technology required in the market. The order intake for the baggage handling systems segment is also higher than it was in the previous financial year.

Vanderlande’s operational result (EBIT) decreased from €36.1 million in 2014 to €25.3 million in the 2015 financial year – a decrease of 30%, which meant a reduction from 4.6% to 2.6% of the turnover. This was caused by significant losses in the package and mail projects that were sold in North America in 2013. The causes of this incident are known and the appropriate organizational and operational measures have been taken consequently.

Vanderlande is growing quickly. The markets in which it is active are rapidly expanding. Airports are increasingly larger and welcome increasingly larger numbers of passengers, leading to more complex demands for the baggage department. The warehouse automation and package and mail services sectors are rapidly growing thanks to the rise of e-commerce, the need for lower costs, and the consolidation of distribution networks.

“In general, the 2015 financial year was positive in terms of turnover and order intake, and the profit was satisfactory,” says Goof Hamers, CEO of Vanderlande. “The size and quality of the orders are notable, as is the fact that this concerns a record amount.”

"It is expected that the fast growth of the company will continue the coming years with an average growth of 10-15% a year, which confirms Vanderlande’s excellent track record in the field of reliability, commitment, and long-term business relationships. Our goal is to provide our customers with efficient logistics automation systems to allow them to earn more and remain more competitive.”
