As of May 5 2021, Hudson Cybertec, specialising in cybersecurity for Industrial Automation & Control Systems (IACS), is affiliated with Kiwa Group. The organisation for testing, inspection and certification services aims to further strengthen its position in the cybersecurity market with a participation in Hudson Cybertec. In turn, Hudson Cybertec will be able to benefit from Kiwa's global network and certification expertise.

The two 100% Dutch companies are fully complementary in terms of their services, leading to a strong synergy. Together, they can position themselves as full-service suppliers in the field of cybersecurity and (product) certification, securing the primary processes of companies and organisations at home and abroad.

As a cybersecurity services provider with a primary focus on Operational Technology (OT), Hudson Cybertec has been helping clients worldwide improve the digital security and resilience of their Industrial Automation & Control Systems from its headquarters in The Hague. Kiwa has also been active in the field of cybersecurity, with services including IEC 62443 and ISO 27000 certifications.

By joining forces, Kiwa will gain in-depth knowledge of cyber security for industrial automatisation and control systems, while Hudson Cybertec unlocks a strong potential for growth and the ability to further strengthen its market position.

Cybersecurity of growing importance

Marcel Jutte, Managing Director of Hudson Cybertec, is very pleased that his company will team up with Kiwa to make the Netherlands more digitally resilient now and in the future. “Technological and social developments never stop, and national and international laws and regulations are constantly adapting. Combined with the ever-increasing connectivity and complexity of processes in both public and private sectors, this is why certification of cybersecurity and compliance monitoring is necessary. It's increasingly important to be able to prove that your cybersecurity is in order," Jutte said.

Ron Scheepers, Executive Vice President at Kiwa, predicts that many new opportunities will emerge from their cooperation with Hudson Cybertec: "Kiwa has been testing and certifying products and processes for their quality, security and sustainability for over 70 years, and lately we've been growing more assertive in the field of cybersecurity. Certification of IT and OT systems demonstrates that cybersecurity risks are manageable and helps both our clients and their customers feel safe. Hudson Cybertec's expertise is a perfect fit for Kiwa's cybersecurity ambitions. Together, we can combine the specialised knowledge of Hudson Cybertec with Kiwa's expansive knowledge of different national and international markets."
