In control of our brain? Appearances are deceptive! | NPM Capital

There is a huge gap between what we think controls our behaviour and what really does, argues neuroscientist Roeland Dietvorst. That is because the human brain consists of two ‘systems’: a ‘reptilian brain’ that has evolved over millions of years and a much younger ‘rational brain’. Dietvorst uses a number of experiments to demonstrate that many of our supposedly ‘rational’ decisions are taken in our subconscious ancient brain.
