Elderly care format Het Gastenhuis, which focuses on elderly people suffering from dementia and is characterised by personal attention and the individual maintaining control, has been fully ISO 9001:2015 certified since 20 February 2019. This shows that the quality system fulfils the applicable national and European standards.

It is important as a care format that the quality of life and care is at a uniformly high level across all locations and that each location delivers on the promises made to clients. This is why it is imperative to register a quality system and make it measurable. The mission and vision are laid down in Het Gastenhuis’ system. The working methods, methodologies and procedures in various areas have likewise been described and made measurable.

The result is a clear and optimally workable quality system. Achieving ISO certification is a confirmation of this. It is also how Het Gastenhuis ensures it complies with the Quality Framework for Nursing Home Care adopted by the Dutch National Health Care Institute in 2017.

A key component of Het Gastenhuis’ approach is a live-in care couple at each Het Gastenhuis location. The elderly care format was established in 2014 and the first home opened its doors in 2015. In association with real estate partner Amvest, Het Gastenhuis has since then rapidly expanded the number of small-scale care homes, which each providing accommodation for a maximum of 20 residents.
