NPM Capital acquires minority interest in Buitenhuis
Buitenhuis acquires Van Dobben and Kwekkeboom
DF Buitenhuis Holding bv, the parent company of Buitenhuis Snacks bv, which is established in Wijk bij Duurstede, has reached agreement with the selling shareholders MeesPierson Informal Opportunity Fund, Synergia Capital and the Van Dobben family on the acquisition of all shares in Cold Hold. Through its subsidiary Cold Food, Cold Hold’s engages in business activities from Oostzaan including Van Dobben and Kwekkeboom, the leading Dutch brands for Dutch ‘kroketten’ (croquettes) and their round appetizer counterparts, ‘bitterballen’. NPM Capital is acquiring a minority interest in Buitenhuis Holding. The strategy of the combined business is focused on further growth at home and abroad, both organic and through acquisitions. The combination of Buitenhuis Snacks with the activities of Cold Food creates a company that is active in a broad range of premium quality deep-frozen snack products, a large part of which under the trusted brands Van Dobben, Kwekkeboom and Buitenhuis. The combined company has some 250 employees. Gerrit Brunninkreef, general manager of Buitenhuis Snacks, says he is pleased with the merger with Cold Food because the products and the culture of both companies dovetail neatly with each other. Olaf Noorman, general manager of Cold Food, is also enthusiastic, partly in view of the new owners’ plans for further growth of the Van Dobben and Kwekkeboom brands. The new board consists of Gerrit Brunninkreef, Olaf Noorman and Piet Bestebroer.
